The Øye jacket is a short, feminine jacket with a waist that is inspired by the traditional Sunnmøres bunad shirt. The embroidery on the back is inspired by the traditional costume of Petrine Myrhol g Øye (b. 1868), who lived in Øye in the Norangsfjorden. It is of course optional if you want to embroider the flowers on the back of the jacket. Tips for embroidery are in the pattern.

Rauma fine wool 100% Norwegian wool, 50 g = approx. 175 meters

Total length: Approx. 48 (51) 53 (56) 57 cm (or adjust to your own wishes)

Sleeve length: Approx. 48 (49) 50 (51) 51 cm

The jacket is knitted from the top down. The neckline, yoke and body are knitted back and forth on circular needles from the top down. It has raglan increases with cables on each side of the increases. The sleeves are knitted in the round on a small circular needle from the top down. Finally, you knit the tie belt with cable. This is tied at the side and should hang down.

The embroidery on the jacket is a collaboration between Bunadstas and Hjørundfjordstrikk.
